The NYT’s Latest Smear Of Cindy McCain
As you are probably aware by now, the New York Times has taken time away from exposing our country’s most vital secrets to publish yet another hit piece upon the McCain family.
The article itself is typical of what now passes for journalism at The Times, with passages such as:
Behind McCain, Outsider in Capital Wanting Back In
By JODI KANTOR and DAVID M. HALBFINGER
Published: October 17, 2008… When The New York Times reported last winter that Mr. McCain’s staffers had urged him to stay away from a female lobbyist during his first presidential run, Mrs. McCain stood by her husband at a news conference and defended his honor…
Never mind that the NYT article mentioned was a complete and utter fabrication.
Just slip in the lie once more. As their spiritual ancestors taught, if you repeat it enough it will become the truth.
The McCain campaign’s lawyer has even written the despicable Times editor, Bill Keller, as reported by CBS News:
Dear Mr. Keller:
I represent Cindy McCain. I write to appeal to your sense of fairness, balance and decency in deciding whether to publish another story about her. I do this well knowing your obvious bias for Barack Obama and your obvios bias hositility to John McCain. I ask you to put your biases and agendas aside.
I understand that Cindy is in the public eye, but you have already profiled her extensively (Jennifer Steinhauer reported), written about her financial situation (including an editorial on her tax returns) and about her role at Hensley and Company.
I am advised that you assigned two of your top investigative reporters who have spent an extensive amount of time in Arizona and around the country investigating Cindy’s life including her charity, her addiction and her marriage to Senator McCain. None of these subjects are news.
I am also advised that your reporters are speaking to Tom Gosinski and her cousin Jamie Clark, neither of whom are reliable or credible sources. Mr. Gosinski has been publicly exposed as a liar and blackmailer on the subject of Cindy McCain. Jamie Clark has very serious drug and stability issues and has failed in a number of attempts to blackmail Cindy. She is simply not credible.
In 1994, Mr. Gosinski drafted a civil complaint for damages claiming, among other things, that Cindy had defamed him with prospective employers after he was discharged from AVMT. Those allegations were utterly false. He was unable to produce any prospective employers and Cindy had not discussed his deficiencies as an employee with anyone outside of AVMT. Indeed, his termination was demonstrated to be appropriate and when he was let go, Cindy gave him severance pay. When confronted with this evidence, his lawyer resigned. Gosinski never filed the complaint in Court and could produce no evidence to support any of its allegations. He attempted to have Cindy pay him $250,000 in exchange for not filing the complaint. Cindy refused and made his attempt to extort her public.
Thereafter, he amended his complaint to allege that Cindy asked him to commit perjury in the adoption proceed involving Bridget McCain. The notes of Cindy’s counsel and the official transcript of the adoption proceedings clearly demonstrate that Gosinski’s was never asked to lie and did not falsely testify in the proceeding. His allegation was an utter fabrication. Gosinski further alleged that Cindy used his name to obtain pain killers for her own personal use. The records of AVMT show that Dr. Max Johnson, licensed by the DEA to order drugs, directed the use of employee names on the prescriptions. The drugs obtained using Mr. Gosinski’s name were used and donated on an AVMT trip to El Salvador. They were not used by Cindy.
These allegations and efforts to hurt Cindy have been a matter of public record for sixteen years. Cindy has been quite open and frank about her issues for all these years. Any further attempts to harass and injure her based on the information from Gosinski and Clark will be met with an appropriate response. While she may be in the public eye, she is not public property nor the property of the press to abuse and defame.
It is worth noting that you have not employed your investigative assets looking into Michelle Obama. You have not tried to find Barack Obama’s drug dealer that he wrote about in his book, Dreams of My Father. Nor have you interviewed his poor relatives in Kenya and determined why Barack Obama has not rescued them. Thus, there is a terrific lack of balance here.
I suggest to you that none of these subjects on either side are worthy of the energy and resources of The New York Times. They are cruel hit pieces designed to injure people that only the worst rag would investigate and publish. I know you and your colleagues are always preaching about raising the level of civil discourse in our political campaigns. I think taking some your own medicine is in order here.
I ask you to let Cindy McCain carry on in her usual understated, selfless and dignified way. The fabrications and lies of blackmailers are not fit to print in any newspaper but particularly not in The New York Times.
Sincerely,
John M. Dowd

Of course it is preposterous to suggest that anyone at the New York Times has a “sense of fairness.” But lawyers have to say preposterous things all of the time.
Mind you, Jodi Kantor is the same “reporter” who did a laughable whitewash of Mr. Obama’s pastor and spiritual mentor of twenty years, Reverend Wright.
But, to be fair, Ms. Kantor is just a paid whore whose job at the moment is to get Mr. Obama elected.

Well said, admin.
I checked on Jodi Kantor on Google. Not much in the way of real accomplishment, just the fact that she bounced around from the Arts & iesure section at the Times, Slate, and back to the Times as a political reporter. Here’s a piece from her July article on O:
“In one class on race, he imitated the way clueless white people talked. “Why are your friends at the housing projects shooting each other?” he asked in a mock-innocent voice. “
“In one class on race, he imitated the way clueless white people talked. “Why are your friends at the housing projects shooting each other?” he asked in a mock-innocent voice.” http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07.....1&_r=2
This is an excerpt from Kantor’s “investigative” reporting on the campaign trail 2008. This is the way the NYT employs “investigative reporting”: send out for hit pieces to be done on Conservatives and Republicans, while ordering glowing reports on Democrats. Not surprising, of course.
But in reading Kantor’s July article linked above, it becomes obvious just what a man-boy we have in Obama. Even his colleagues at the school for which he was employed as one of the first (half) black professors agree that his style was to AVOID taking a stand in class or in published writings at all costs. This little prep-school boy knew from a long time before that standing up for what you believe in could come back to haunt you, politically.
Gone are the days of Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, where an average citizen sees wrongdoings in his or her town, county, or state, then not only speaks out against them, but musters up a grass-roots movement to remedy the situation in Washington.
No, that takes bravery. And Obama doesn’t have that in him. He’s a cool cat. He’s too clever to give you enough rope to hang him. He won’t come down on any issue in an obvious way, so that you won’t be able to hold it against him in his political future. Just as McCain has been trying to illuminate in their debates, you have to listen carefully to Barry to understand what he’s really all about.
At 47, he’s gotten where he is by coasting through high-dollar education since he was in middle school, mentored by Marxist agitators who prepared him for his chosen career path: say nothing that betrays our goals until you’re in a position to do something about it.
Just listen to similar Fellow Travelers, like William Ayers in the Youtube piece recently posted here at our forum: http://getdrunkandvote4mccain......ds-reunion In it, he speaks for over ten minutes on how we need REVOLUTION NOW, but he doesn’t say anything of substance AT ALL! This is the way of the Saul Alinsky-ites: speak of overturning the accepted order, but don’t use words that they can use to hang you with! SPEAK IN CODE, and those who will join in will know what you’re saying. But by leaving your words just vague enough, you allow yourself sufficient plausible deniability to weasel out of prosecution when your followers have bombed the city block.
That’s real bravery, isn’t it? Just like the little cowards they are, liberals and communists are never the ones who demonstrate what it means to stand for something, and defend your point of view no matter WHAT repercussions may fall your way. They couldn’t hold a candle to real men of courage and valor like war hero John McCain. When you get Barry in a room of decision-makers like the men he may be in with after Election Day, he’ll hem and haw his way into paralysis by analysis, patting himself on the back for being so “brilliant”. (the same condition Clinton treated us to in the 90’s, where he led us into the reality of 911 by not dealing with our enemies because he was too lawyerly and analytical to find “actionable” reasons for striking at UBL while we had the chances)
That is, if he doesn’t have the opportunity to unleash his REAL intentions.
What are his real intentions? Well, we are left to guess, because Barry has been sitting on his ass, writing memoirs like men of action have done after a lifetime of accomplishing things. Unfortunately, we’re only left to guess at how Obama thinks. But we get little clues, from time to time, like the one from the quote up above. It came from when he was teaching in college, where he mocked white people for asking honest, sincere questions, like, “Why are your friends at the housing projects shooting each other?”
His response tells us a lot, in my opinion. Leave it to someone of cowardly, evil stock to besmirch the white side of his family, who not only took him in after the black side of his heritage abandoned him for more whoring and intoxication, but actually sacrificed their own financial security to send Barry to elite prep schools, which paved his way into the halls of Occidental, Columbia, then Harvard. What good did all of that golden opportunity, which you and I will NEVER know, get?
No good at all, apparently. It left this malcontent, ingrate, Marxist agitator a dark soul who mocks genuine, good, well-meaning people when they sincerely reach out to try and understand how other people can shoot and kill their own kind over no good reason at all. So professor Obama feigns a white voice/mannerism of which he knows all too well, for he was raised by it, to try to ingratiate himself to the darker, more sinister demons in ourselves in order to get his “street credentials.”
This is what we have to expect from a President Obama.
I think at some point while going to the most expensive prep school on the island of Oahu, Obama decided that whites were akin to the anti-christ. I would like to send my son to an expensive prep school but honestly, if we were still living in HI and they saw our zip code (96706), they would reject his application outright, unless they figured they needed a “token” from the wrong side of the tracks. This is one ungreatful piece of dirt. His grandparents raised him, his mother was too busy finding men who were the antithesis of what her background was to do the job.
John, I would be ashamed-honestly ashamed if my son goes to an ivy league school. It is difficult to believe that two people (michelle and barack) who have been given the world are so unhappy and so full of hate. Did you catch on Rush’s show where he was discussing her pre-dinner snack at the Waldorf on Thursday? Iranian caviar-disgusting.
BTW wonder if old Barry ever discussed the numbers of caddys and lincolns at the old housing project parking lot? Yeah, lots of able bodied people sitting around, getting high, drinking beer and making babies and this fool wants to take our money and “give it to those behind us”. I have had enough with giving these fools everything. They need to get off their mac and cheese behinds and look for work.
