I do believe McCain/Palin has a good chance now that we are getting to the wire. I am still a little nervous, but I think it's starting to come together. Finally D.Rather says something reasonable. I think his generation now realizes when they were beating up Nixon, Reagan, etc. these guys would always be around. Now I think slowly they realize no one is coming along to replace them. Not in strong numbers anyway. Between the generational change and the demographics change I think now they see how brazen the world
is willing to be. It is important to recognize that new blood like S.Palin, B.Jindel, T.Pawlenty, C.Christ and a few others are making
an impact. Now they need to show the same mind muscle as Pres. Reagan and I think in time we may be O.K. It will always be disturbing to see the level of willingness to vote for all out Marxism like these past two years have shown us. It's not healthy, but the
fact that we see it so brightly is a good sign. I'm glad R.Limbaugh let us know that Ann is crunching with her new book. That's the
reason (hopefully) why her website isn't current with daily updates. Please Ann, don't make the nervous ones more nervous. Any daily update will do. Waiting until Wed. evening is to far a stretch. Extending Biden's point can't hurt.

Latinos4JohnnyMac: I haven't bought it, yet. I definitely like what I've seen of it's subject matter. The cover is funny, as well.

I just finished Michener's Centennial last night, and need to finish about four others before I start another, but will probably pick it up with a Barnes & Noble gift card I received for my birthday a few weeks ago.

Two of the ones I'm trying to finish are The Enemy At Home by Dinesh D'Souza, and Unholy Alliance by David Horowitz. I'm a huge fan of Horowitz. Started off by reading his autobiography, Radical Son. I recommend it and anything by him. His website is www.frontpagemagazine.com

I look forward to reading your review of Goldberg's book, Latinos4JohnnyMac.

Hey if any of you guys havent read "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg, you should get it from the Conservative Book Club. John, it's excellent and deals with a lot of what you're talking about. I just started it and will blog about it on my website, http://www.bronzepage.com sooner or later. For now I'm enjoying getting through the book.

So true, Mike. I have to admit, though, that I was first heartbroken about this country in 1992, when 43% of America caste their votes for an avowed draft-dodger. I had just come back from Persian Gulf I, where I was emergency-recalled back into the infantry to drive Saddam out of Kuwait, and, because of Colin Powell and a small amount of others, leave that despot in command to come back to haunt us.

My image of America’s common voters was tainted because I was a man who sacrificed his life for the combat defense of these fellow citizens, and I thought that they considered my service sacred, and at least noble. I had NO idea that they could put a draft-dodger in control of real men’s safety on the battlefield. Frankly, it disgusted me.

And I haven’t gotten over it, to this day. The fact that Obama is leading by his current margin leaves me to think, “Hell, why isn’t it more? We’ve let every socialist, totalitarian nation flood our borders with their citizens—it’s INEVITABLE!”

Case in point: Bill Richardson came to campaign in my neck of the woods, today. You know where he went? Not to Naples, Ft Myers, or Sarasota, where there are more people to hear him, but to Immokalee, Fl. Do you know what Immokalee is? I do, as I had to go down to the Seminole Casino there to judge a talent contest a couple of years ago—it’s an illegal immigrant worker’s shanty town!
I drove through the middle of this town, and I saw men lying on the sidewalks, drunk and sad as hell. The McDonald’s I stopped at there was putrid inside, with dirty walls, counters, and kitchen areas. I used to work at McDonald’s in my youth, and I can tell you, as a lifelong patron of many different states’ self-owned McDonald’s franchises, it was the worst I’ve ever seen. I was glad to leave that little town.

Yet Richardson chose that place for ONE reason: the Mexican labor force there would gather (only 100 people were the estimate), and tell their entire network to vote for Obama. Richardson was pandering to those non-citizens in order to stoke their socialist/Zapatista impulses to vote for this socialist we call Obama.

The fact that so many Americans are even considering voting for an avowed socialist like Obama shows how far this country has fallen. Is the American Republic facing its final days? I hope not.

Of course this is all Apocalyptic. This is what happens when weak leaders are in control. This thumb-sucking liberal called Obama is first a coward, second a petulant child. When pushed and tested, he will break from his pacifist, cowardly impulses to repell the charges of being soft, causing him to over compensate for being weak. The draft and invasion of Pakistan are completely plausible realities we can expect from this man-boy who never knew a fight in his life. Getting this country safely through the minefield ahead isn't something you learn at the prestigious prep schools in Hawaii and the Ivy League halls of Columbia and Harvard.

We’ve seen it before, and anyone who’s been around boys in groups has seen it played out many times. The quiet, strong types don’t need to prove themselves, but the pansy cowards get picked on because they are weak.

Same thing with world leaders. Concerning the missile crisis of 1962, Khrushchev had expressed doubt to the poet Robert Frost about the readiness of the "liberal" U.S. to fight over tough issues. Soon after, he deployed the FIRST non-Russian-soil missiles in Cuba.

If you think that there aren’t leaders with the same mentality as Khrushchev, you’re only fooling yourself. Just like Obama has been fooling himself, as he condemns his own country, claiming we’re “bombing innocent people”, and “air-raiding villages” in our Iraq war. These silly comments are being heard by despots like Putin who exacts Soviet-style killings on his own people AND on the people of sovereign nations who used to be satellite republics of the U.S.S.R. And it's also heard by murderous, evil leaders in the Middle East who allow "honor killings" and public hangings of homosexuals in their own country. (but somehow the idiot Obama calls US the bad guys)

Make no mistake: world despots, from the Ayatollah in Iran, to Mdvedev/Putin in Russia, are reading Obama’s pacifist, liberal views as a chance to test us. If not directly, then most certainly with our allies, stoking proxy wars to be fought in Venezuela/South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Eurasia.

And that’s just with the obvious heads of state. Keep in mind our pourous borders on the north and the south, and the SEVERAL nationless movements, such as Al Qaeda, Islamic Jihad, Jihad Group, etc. [see a casual listing of them here: http://www.fas.org/irp/world/para/ ] who will step up their efforts, believing that we have a permissive, weak leader at the helm, known as Obama.

Of course, when they finally do report this, it will be turned into some sort of Journo-porn prose about how wonderfully Obama will pass the testing with flying colors, and how he will dazzle his "teachers" with his intellect and character. I don't want anything bad to happen, but if he does win the Presidency, at the very least, this testing will show people that he is completely unequipped for the job.
