Post-Partisan Obama Ignores Fox News

From the ‘Top Of The Ticket" at the Los Angeles Times:

Now that Obama’s won, Fox News can’t seem to catch his eye

Back in October then-Sen. Barack Obama granted a then-rare campaign interview. That time, not surprisingly, it went to the N.Y. Times Magazine and the candidate reportedly whined to the writer:

"I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls. If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn’t vote for me, right?

"Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?"

It’s not unusual for public figures to feel mis-portrayed or even abused by media organizations. John McCain and his people expressed some strong concerns several times about the same Times newspaper.

Now that the campaign is over and Obama is president-elect, his reticence to talk with the media is gone. Now, he’s eager to spread the impression of abundant pre-oath energy and activity.

So, he’s held four news conferences and two sit-down TV interviews since election day, including three news conferences three days in a row this week. He’s broken the news conference record for all recent presidents-elect.

At these news sessions since Nov. 4, the future commander in chief has answered a total of 22 questions from different reporters. Wednesday, it was NPR, the N.Y. Daily News and CNN.

But not once has the election victor called on a representative of Fox News. He just hasn’t seemed to spot them waving their hand for recognition…

Note that the New York Post has also been stiffed by the ‘Great Unifier.’

What a shock, eh?

Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal.

Mr. Obama does have a point.

He doesn’t drive a Volvo.

HE took the words right out of my mouth.

  2. Lol @ “Mr. Obama does have a point. He doesn’t drive a Volvo.”

Good one, Admin. I hadn’t heard the characterization of him so eloquently put, but he seems to nail it–if the shoe fits, wear it.

We should all be aware of the timing of this Western-targeted al-Qaeda (Deccan Mujahadeen, specifically) strike. Anything that hits not only our heroic men and women in the Armed Forces, but our civilians traveling in Mumbai, India, or ANYwhere, is to be seen as a strike on our homeland back home.

The fact is that al-Qaeda and many other Islamofascist cells accomplish their goals not as much by the immediate death and carnage, like the American, British, and Jews that are being targeted in Mumbai right now, but from the great media exposure and reaction afterwards. From this action, we see that our support of Israel is to be shared with our Iraq war as reasons for this Mumbai attack.

We have been graced with a commander-in-chief who brought back the notion of “No more” to these jackals we call Islamofascists. When was the last time you heard of such a well-planned excursion to blow up and kill our US citizens directly while they are overseas, not in combat regions? The USS Cole comes quickly to mind. But there were many others in the 1990’s (under Clinton and his cadre of experts): Saudi Arabia’s bombing of Riyadh and the Kobar Towers, two different US Embassies in two African countries, etc.

Just what is al-Qaeda (and soon to be more who may emerge from the caves to test us) demonstrating by this Mumbai incident?

That we are now weak, due in part to the fact that president Bush is a lame duck, uneager to make dramatic gambles in his waning days, and that we now have Barack Obama as the safeguard for Americans abroad, and at home (shudder). Make no mistake–this action was planned well before this election was concluded, and it was conceived as a strike at the American electoral system and our Constitution. Both deep wells that could be upset during a vulnerable time in a nation’s history, like…when we’re changing presidents, for instance.

How Barry handles this will foretell MUCH of what we can expect from him for the next four years. So far I haven’t heard anything with meat from him, only that “we need to forge better relations with the Indians”. I hope to God that some hawk somewhere around him impresses the reality of this whole thing we call, ‘foreign policy’ to him. Too much time growing up in colleges, where only the theoretical impresses, not the ones who have ‘been there and done it’. Anything is possible when it’s on paper: “We can arrest the bad guy terrorists by making better relations abroad”.

John Galt, I have seen that name before.
The moonbats really do not like you, so my 1st post is to say hi to you while I settle into my little corner and get drunk.

Well I drive a Volvo but only because they give great deals to military members who are downrange. The same car that cost me 42K cost 54K at the dealership because I went and priced it out once it was ordered. Thousands of military members get them while over in Iraq. Hubby says next time he gets deployed he might order himself a Volvo convertible but we’ll see.
Now to the topic at hand-Obama reminds me of a middle school kid, gee Johnny didn’t sit with me at lunch so I am not going to pick him for my basketball team at 6th period PE. He is absolutely clueless and if I’m not mistaken don’t the electors gather on December 15th? Technically he’s really not the President Elect yet. I have never heard of such nonsense as the “Office of the President Elect”.
John-the problem is no one sees these attacks that way. It’s far off, who goes to India anyway, who cares about an embassy in a foreign country, etc. Too busy out stampeding people to death for a plasma tv to care. Barack just wants to be friends with everybody-why can’t we all get a long and go to Whole Foods for some tasty arugula? He reminds me of this 2nd LT who was a platoon leader constantly asking the Sgt.-what do I do now? I don’t have real high hopes but at least Gates will stay on for a time until the moonbats convince the Messiah to fire him.
Hi to Latinos-hope you’re doing well.
    DEZ-ever read “Atlas Shrugged”?

  5. The news… Yawn.. even if this ( http://www.obamacrimes.com/ ) turns out to be Bullsquat, it is STILL huge news. When last did you see an article mentioning the “possibility” of Obama’s lack of qualification as is being challenged by Berg in the NY times, or on NBC nightly news?

    “DEZ-ever read “Atlas Shrugged”?”

    Can’t say that I have!

  7. “When last did you see an article mentioning the “possibility” of Obama’s lack of qualification as is being challenged by Berg in the NY times, or on NBC nightly news?”
Great point, Jason. Even if it is false, this level of “anomalies” in the document of any GOP would have sent Curic, Phillips, Williams, Cooper, Sawyer, to the makeup rooms for urgent breaking news, for sure. Interesting video.

Catie, re my sisyphean attempt to dwell on the Mumbaian massacre–you are correct, of course. If I tried to unwind the ball of yarn that is the War On Terror to the easily bored, I would be seeing eyes glaze over by the time I’d gotten to the phrase, “formerly Bombay”.

But, luckily, I know that GDAH4TB is a place for the philosopher to come, pour some social lubricant, and let down our hair a bit to discuss issues of the day. I try not to assume this conversation on many in the 3-D world, without first asking a few basic questions of the person to see if it’s even going to be a conversation, or the abovementioned eye-glazing result.

What a shock? Ignoring the news that’s gonna watch his adminastration like a hawk. The news channel where 57million Americans,
( those of us who frequent here understand that No.#) who he MUST take into consideration watch for sanity. I guess that’s why he is keeping Mr.Gates on (a Bush appointee). A few others in this Clinton re-do are not as tragically liberal. Gee nothing like a massacre in India to make you realize you can’t CHANGE as much as you like. Trust me if it were the old days, before 9/11, all this govt., social crap philosophy would have started the minute they closed the polls. Throwing money at every social cause that came at him. This was one reason (there were many) why J.Carter didn’t get another term. The give in philosophy. Well thanks to Rupert Murdoch
and Roger Ailes (hope it spelled right) all this can be debated, looked into and analized so they can’t get away with it so fast. So if he ignores Fox, Oh well, as A.Coulter would say “Where it as a badge of honor”.
