Hugo Chavez Feels Sorry For Sarah Palin

From his rabid fans at the Associated Press:

Venezuela’s Chavez: Palin a pitiful ‘beauty queen’

By RACHEL JONES

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin a “poor thing” who didn’t know what she was saying when she called him a dictator.

Friday’s verbal attack was the latest in long history of creative insults by Chavez — but was not unprovoked.

In an interview with the U.S. Spanish-language network Univision aired Tuesday, Palin remarked that “through negotiations or sanctions, if necessary, we can pressure dictators like Hugo Chavez to make it clear that they cannot mess with the United States whenever they feel like it.”

Speaking at an event to inaugurate a thermoelectric plant, Chavez said he had heard of Palin’s remarks.

“The poor thing, you have to feel sorry for her,” he said with a dismissive wave of his hand. Palin, he said, is “a beauty queen that they’ve put in the role of a figurine.”

Chavez said one must do as Christ did: “Forgive her, for she knows not what she says.”

Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s choice of Palin as his running mate surprised the nation and prompted questions about her qualifications to serve as vice president

As usual it is nigh impossible to tell Mr. Chavez’s rants from those of any run of the mill Democrat — and of course the DNC’s lickspittle minions in the media.

I’m sure Sean Penn who once again made a recent visit to Venezuela, would be much more qualified. Just give him a script, make
all kinds of nice, nice with these frauds and watch his American ass get kicked just like everbody else’s. These actors and frauds crack me up. What makes them think that if they kiss the asses of these haters they will somehow be saved. Same goes for Barbra
Steisand and a lot of old time Jewish entertainers. They still think it’s 1965 or something and that feel sorry crap still works. What they need to realize ( same for lib media) is that, at that time that whole crowd didn’t have the abilities they have now. A lot of it came from financial help from these entertainers, hippies, pop culture in general. Now they need to realize that it has changed. They really don’t want help or input from these folks anymore. Look at the disdain towards Israel, Daniel Pearl, etc. Farrakhan is helping
tremendously with making it clear that, yea we got a whole lotta money from these feel sorries, now let’s use it. Not with them/ AGAINST them. As B. O’Reilly says “Wise Up”. Penn can be friends with Chavez all he wants. Remember Sean, no one on this side will save ya. You’re NOT qualified to be saved ! Onward/Forward=McCain/Palin 2008.

Okay, as the resident Latino on this website, I gotta say, Hugo Chavez represents all the dangers of Obama’s populism. Yes, Chavez has helped many of his fellow L.American countries reduce their dependency on the US (something that in the end benefits the US as much as Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia.) Yes, he has shown amazing sympathy for the poor.

But Chavez is an egomaniac. And he’s a troublemaker. And the thing about troublemakers is, they usually succeeded in making what they want. But they always start out as underdogs and contrast themselves against something which looks far worse than their agenda. Hence, compared to the Monroe Doctrine and being under the endless domination of US-supported right-wing dictatorships, a post-Cold-War Chavez looks refreshing.

And then you have to remind yourself, the Cold War is so over it’s not even relevant anymore. Chavez has accomplished multiple reforms, yet you see him still rattling his saber and delivering inflammatory philippics and pushing for more control. He’s not David anymore. He’s the behemoth.

So goes it with Obama. His supporters think Obama is better than a theocratic warmongering corrupt hypocritical prodigal cowboy (which is not who Bush is, but what political fantasy has painted him as). They just don’t understand what it will mean once Obama is in power and his thugocracy isn’t David with a slingshot, but Goliath with 3 branches of government, tons of tax money, and a bunch of bombs at their fingertips.

Yikes! And don’t mind Chavez roughing on Sarah, she’s tough enough to handle it, and it just exposes Chavez’s own sexism.

For what it’s worth, I blooged today (http://www.bronzepage.com) a succinct reason for voting for McCain, along with my mea culpa for having contributed to defeatism lately.

When was the first time RACHEL JONES did any investigative reporting? She shows herself as a puppet of the left, like 90% of all the other media press outlets. She is just a closet Marxist like Hugo, “The poor thing RACHAEL, you have to feel sorry for her,”

Please this article is just a way to bring up all the past 8 years ranting against Bush – so that Obama & Biden’s lack of substance on the issues, lack of experience to hold the highest 2 offices of the US and of course their daily lies, distortions and gaffes can be ignored by the msm.

Better to run against Bush and have at hand the 8 years of lies and distortions than even attempt to defend yourself and your policies plan.

And what better stooge to be able to do it than the southern narcissist – Chavez.

    Latinos4JohnnyMac- You are not alone:)

I have family that live in Venezuela. They have to put up with this man on a daily basis and it is quite sad. If Sarah Palin has earned his pity, it sounds like she is on the right track. (And she is my governor. I really like her.)

  6. catie

Celina, you must be at Fort Wainwright? We probably will never get stationed there because my husband is retiring if BO does win. I agree, she is on the right track if he’s feeling pity for her.

  7. Celina

Ft. Rich actually. It is gorgeous up here. We have at least one more tour after this before retirement but we plan to come back up here to stay.

Celina, are you or your husband from there originally or did you both just fall in love with it? My daughter’s eye doc at Tripler in HI was originally from AK. He said he’d love to go back but Tripler was such a major medical center the opportunities were better for him there.
We are in Northern VA and I really don’t like it yet. It did take me about 9 months to like HI but we’ve been up here for 10 months and I’m not feeling the love yet. I liked Hampton Roads area better than here. Some though not all of the people I’ve met are a bit snooty.

My husband is originally from New York and I am from San Diego. I would kind of like a bigger city mainly for the children because of museums wider variety of specialty goods (my little ones are allergic to disposibles, for instance, so I either buy cloth ones or make them, finding those supplies is a little harder but definitely not a hardship). We are right outside of Anchorage which is kind of small for a big city.

After 7 years (yep, almost unheard of in the military) it has really grown on us.

My husband was just in Virginia. We lost our youngest daughter’s godfather in Iraq last month and he accompanied his wife and sons to bury him. My husband really wants to go back and have a proper vacation there and after seeing his pictures, I really do too. I don’t know if we will have the opportunity before he deploys in a few months. I would love to take my children to see the Smithsonian and all of the monuments around the capitol. It also would be good for our daughter to see her godfather’s final resting place. Believe it or not my 13 yo daughter was given the opportunity to go to the inauguration (sp?) but she decided that she couldn’t do it if Obama was elected. I guess there is a reason you can’t explain a candidate’s pro-abortion stance to a child without the child thinking the candidate is a terrible human being. I just remind her that he needs our prayers.

I lived in Venezuela for many years and I remember the democratic and prosperous days of Presisent Betancourt. Chavez’s “reforms” include yanking all the tribal missionaries out of the Indian villages (The people wept at the loss of beloved friends as well as of the medical, educational and spiritual help they were being deprived of) and implementing price controls resulting in food and fuel shortages nationwide.
People will not produce and market goods unless they can make a profit. Chavez is the one people should feel sorry for; he does not learn from his mistakes.

Celina, is he trolling the military posts looking for fans? I know a friend of mine who lives in Norfolk was saying that his wife was having “secret” meetings with a number of wives. It was one of those “worst kept secret secrets”.
One of our groomsman is at Arlington as well. I know how jarring it is to lose someone really close to you. How is his wife? My idiot sister in law would not go to Mark’s grave when they were here over the 4th of July. It made me sick. I didn’t tell my husband until after they left. She’s an anti-war, anti-military lefty. When we married she didn’t like the sword arch or the fact that I bought a sword for my husband and we cut our cake with it. My then 2 1/2 y/o nephew she was afraid would be “impressed” with all the military ceremonial things surrounding the wedding that she stayed in the car during the ceremony and when we left the chapel and took him upstairs for the cutting of the cake. She loves BO.
I guess you’re a better person than I am, I just pray he doesn’t destroy the country.
Seven years is a long time to be anywhere in the military. How long do you think you’ll stay? If you come this way, let me know.

Gas just hit $1.89/gallon here in Indiana.
Tough luck Hugo baby, it’s gonna be tough paying for all that socialism with $40/bbl oil.

  13. Celina

About the secret meetings, umm, wow. Reminds me of the kids page on BO’s website. It is trulely appalling (sp?). “Babies for Obama” t-shirts (although I have to admit it was a pic of a baby wearing the shirt, I didn’t see them for sale on the website but I also didn’t look) and a story on how to best guilt your grandparents into voting for BO. Surely whiny 8yos have the life experience, intelligence, and sense of morality that their grandparents in their 60’s or more couldn’t possibly have (/sarc). They even suggest that the child take their grandparent to the polls and tell them to vote BO “for my future”.

I know exactly 1 army wife who loves BO. Like most other Obama supporters I know, she can’t really say why exactly. Only spout the hope ‘n change mantra thinking I haven’t noticed she can’t name any accomplishment of his.

Dan’s wife is doing as well as can be expected. My husband has had a bit more of a connection to her and it has been good for her boys so he has been helping her out a lot. It is a tough job (my DH is in operations so his job is never truely done for the day) but he tries to spend as much time with the boys as he can. Of course he will be leaving soon so us wives will be making sure she is taken care of.

You have my sympathies for having to deal with a SIL like that. She acted like that at your wedding?! Unbelieveable but sadly not really unbelieveable.

Oh, and I am hardly a better person:) If my daughter or anyone in my family had been approached with the opportunity to go to the inauguration by the Obama campaign, my answer would have not been “No” but “Hells NO!” Said as charitably as possible ;)

We will be PCSing within 90 days of DH’s redeployment. Not sure where we are headed to from here. I’ll be sure to give you a heads up if we head out that way:)

  14. catie

Celina, moving when the hubby just gets home-I don’t envy you that. We were supposed to have 60 days be he was delayed-extended coming back and it was 3 weeks of his redeployment. Let me know. Our next post from HI was Fort Gordon, GA. The people at the post (civillian workers) were not very friendly but I had heard that from a friend who went there about 18 months before we did. Luckily it we were only there for 9 months.
Yes, my sister in law is a nightmare. She’s gotten worse over the 14 years they’ve been married.
My friend Robin said the CO’s wife was the one who got the “meeting” with Michelle My Belle together and then “invited” more like a request that wives and hubbys come and to spread the word. It was actually in the Washington Times some time last spring or early summer. Robin said it was very stressful but that woman’s husband does her husband’s evals so she went.
