Hastings Warns Blacks, Jews About Palin

From Fox News:

Democratic Congressman Warns Jews, Blacks to Beware of Palin

by Stephen Clark

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings on Wednesday warned two minority groups to beware of Sarah Palin because “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”

Hastings, who is black and a Democrat, made the comment in Florida at a panel discussion hosted by the National Jewish Democratic Council. The group recently criticized Palin’s invitation to an anti-Iran rally held during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinajad’s visit to New York to speak before the U.N. General Assembly.

Hastings was explaining what he intended to tell his Jewish constituents about the presidential race.

“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” Hastings told the audience, which burst into laughter and applause, according to individuals present.

Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella declined to comment. The Republican Jewish Coalition strongly condemned Hastings’ statements.

“Rep. Hastings stooped to the worst kind of divisive politics yesterday,” RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said in a written statement. “Hastings’ unconscionable remarks do nothing but sow seeds of fear and divide people. There should be no place in our country for this sort of political discourse. We can constructively disagree on the issues without denigrating others.” …

Hastings, a former federal judge, was impeached and removed from the bench in 1989 for perjury and corruption…

Of course the policies of Messrs Obama and Biden will be great for Jews — and blacks.

Now you see, this is not a racist statement. Because, according to the Rev. Al Sharpton, black people CAN’T be racist cause they don’t have any power.

On the other hand, if Barack Obama is elected president, we gonna have a whole new bunch of racists and lot of em too.

  2. The thing I still have a hard time understanding is that Jewish folks seem to heavily favor the democrats, and the Republicans are the staunchest supporters of Israels self defense initiatives.. Then there are Jesse Jackson’s “Hymietown” remarks.. yeesh

There is something I am missing I suppose.

I, as an avid hunter of wild game and Republican, am deeply offended by this statement. I better contact my local ACLU office and file a lawsuit. On the other hand statements like this show the true feelings within the party of love and drive more votes to the right.

    Thanks

I think I’ll have a beer and two shots of Irish to go with the milk.

It’s rather sad that they (the black liberals) continue to bring up this race thing. I have nothing against any race, but certain people of all races. I’m sure in certain demographics race might be an issue, but really its 2008…none of us enslaved any of you…GET OVER IT!

Forget the glasses, just hand me a full martini shaker.

So, so sad. Now I just need a pro-Obama Latino to make an idiotic statement like this, so my fellow Hispanic brothers will finally get over their Obamaphilia and support McCain! Seems like all minority groups get from the Democrats is stupidity, condescension and exploitation. Give me the Republicans and a good border fence any day.
